via: [Occasional] Picture of the day

I stumbled across this picture and immediately cracked up. My dad must have had this in mind the Christmas he gave my mom a very large and heavy box. Upon opening it, my mother discovered that inside were more boxes, newspaper stuffings, and a hammer, hence the heavy factor. Down at the very bottom was the real present...pistachios. I mean why wouldn't that be an ideal gift for your wife? Especially, when the year before you struck out when you tried to give her a Green Bay Cheesehead (because she likes cheese) and a box of cheeseits. Clearly my dad lived and learned, and when his early Christmas present of pistachios didn't go over too well for anybody but Jack (who gladly accepted the regift two days later,) decided he needed to strike out once more. Christmas morning my mom opened up a big bag with a huge bag of peanut m&m's and a new remote control for the TV, inside. Classic romantic, that guy. In reality I think he's genius. He realizes he loves my mom, love isn't expressed through gifts, and no matter what he gets her, she'll return it anyways. So, why not get something he'll get to enjoy? It's simple, really.
