I was harry potter for halloween in the fifth grade. not hermione which would have been the normal thing for a girl to dress up as-- but my costumes have always leaned towards the male end of the spectrum. it was a great costume. I even engraved firebolt into my broom. but I almost cried when I met up with the group I was trick-or-treating with, because there is this kid from pinehurst who looks uncannily identical to harry potter and he decided to dress up as him that year too. it was a bummer.
