the view from our beach house is a view that inherently takes me back. to boat rides and floating in the sound till your skin is pruney. to boogie boarding and body surfing and losing both bathing suits and contacts to the waves. to washing off sand at the end of a long day and feeling like you can never rid of sweaty-salty-suncreened skin. to nights staying up late playing games and having to go “downtown” because mom mom and pop pop were ready for bed. to lazy nights laying on the floor with pillows watching tv. to the candy drawer and bags full for the trip home honking the horn and waving to everyone at the front deck. to fires on the dock from fireworks and endless nights of spoons. to disasters on the boats of our spastic parents who tend to be a little too worried about us. to many beautiful sunsets on the back deck and spending endless hours looking for shooting stars. more than anything though, it takes me back to a lifetime of memories full of love and laughter, of everyone together, always. I spent last week at the beach with all of my family. and by family I mean all 30 of us--4 generations of kramer’s. we’ve been going together for my entire life and the week at the beach is something that I will forever cherish.
