I got my first peacock feather from my sister’s high school boyfriend, aaron. he lived on a farm and had a pet peacock. this was when my love/obsession for the animal began. aaron picked me two feathers from its butt but driving home through the back country roads with the windows down, one flew out. I was devastated, but fear not-- I got my fill of feathers. perhaps too big a fill and now I find myself not wanting to join the feather trend. I feel like I’ve been there, done that. years ago I was wearing handmade peacock earrings and I loved decorating my room with jars filled with feathers. there was even a time in my life when I had four of the same shirts from the limited that tied with peacock feathers. I repeat, FOUR OF THE SAME SHIRTS!! I thought they were just the coolest and for only $7, why not get four? right?but now only a few years later, I find myself saying no, I do not want feather hair extensions (a popular trend at uga right now.) and no, I do not want feather jewelry.

butttttttt these earrings... I want! something about that vintage feel with the mango orange and kelly green and those feathers. I just love ‘em. guess I can blame my love on my roots.
