we have to do a current event in my fashion merchandising class. mine was going to be on kate spade’s recent arrival in the tumblr world. and that still is part of the presentation. but there’s more. it’s not that I don’t love kate spade, its just a place I know I can’t afford much so I don’t visit the site often. plus I feel like I’m exposed to so much here in the blogging world that I don’t have to visit the site. I do love their e-cards for valentine’s day though so I’ll have to check those out before next week! however tonight I stumbled upon a really cool thing they are doing. kate spade created a program called women for women international that helps women and families in need around the world. their latest article was about women in rwanda who are making totes that will launch this spring. these women get to use the craftiness embedded in them to make money for themselves. I think this is really great.
