easter weekend
we had glorious weather this past weekend, though as I write that I am remembering snow flurries for part of saturday-- I spent the better part of that day inside resting. on good friday, josephine and I spent lunchtime together talking about easter and saying prayers which was really special time with her. I went on a huge afternoon run, partially by choice but also because my phone fell out of my pocket so I had to backtrack for miles. (luckily a nice lady found it and we met each other at the metro). annie had two of her best friends from atlanta in town and we celebrated sara’s birthday at our favorite pizza place and they were so sweet they brought her favorite pizza out with a candle in the top. we passed lots of fun times together all weekend. sunday we went to church and sara and I had the most random afternoon of coffee at a super nice cafe, shopping and mcdonalds fries. annie’s family was out of town and kindly let us use their place to have an easter dinner with friends which was absolutely lovely. though I was a large part of the planning of our menu (chicken salad, pasta salad, roasted veggies, fruit and a signature cocktail) I after realized how little help I actually am in the kitchen and need to be better! the food was all delicious and we feasted all evening to the point where my dress felt like it became a shirt I was so full. we took advantage of a monday off from work and walked around the saint germain area, the marais, and ending up at the canals for sunset beers along the water. though I was so sad to not be spending easter on the back patio of my grandmother’s house, participating in easter egg hunts and playing wiffleball, I’m so thankful I am able to spend special holidays with such wonderful friends and am so thankful for the unique friendships I’ve been able to make abroad.
