I spent a few days last week at fire island babysitting for a family. it was such a sweet adventure and as I rode the train, cab and ferry it took to get there I felt like such an independent young woman. a part of me cringes at the thought. the kids were adorable and so loving and I was welcomed into the home of strangers and treated like a guest. the house was what a beach house should feel like. open windows, huge screened porches, and the constant sound of breaking waves.
point of woods is a tiny little place where everyone in the community knows each other. the kids go to camp in the am, play tennis in the afternoon and frequent the candy shop. everyone rides bikes, and everyone is constantly barefoot. I loved every second of it and truly was so sad to have to leave, especially as the kids sprinted down the pier to wave goodbye.
